Design and Development of planar inductor based proximity sensor operating down to 4.2K
The design, development and testing of a multilayer planar inductor based eddy current proximity/displacement transducer was done for cryogenic application. Proximity/displacement of a metal surface/target in the range of 0-5 mm was measured. The cold electronics based LC oscillator operating at 4.2 K using stable thermal cycled components was used. A Data Acquisition System (DAQ) was developed for measuring the frequency output of the sensor at different constant temperatures down to liquid helium temperatures.
