Development of a calibration system for calibrating LOX and LH2 liquid level sensors for ISRO

A complete calibration system for capacitive type level sensors was designed and developed as per the strict requirements of ISRO. These includes precise monitoring and maintain different attributes of cryogenic flow including the pressure of the cryostat, level in the storage dewar and flow rates of the cryogen in and out of the cryostat. A data acquisition system used for acquiring the capacitance data utilizing an ultra-precision capacitance bridge was also developed. A relay based switching system and appropriate control logic using LabView were developed. Based on the requirement of the space organisation (ISRO), a MATLAB program was developed for data analysis, data sorting and curve fitting purposes.
